Professional Experience

Glenn Hughes has over 14 years experience as a property development and business manager, both in Australia and overseas. He spent the first 9 years of his career with the Lend Lease Group as a manager of major, multi-use development projects prior to establishing Corona Consulting in 2000.

Corona Consulting's major client has been the New South Wales Department of Commerce and the various other NSW Government departments and agencies for which it provides property development services.

On behalf of the NSW Government, Corona Consulting (and Glenn) has provided Senior Development Manager or Project Director services on several complex and politically sensitive projects, including:

  • Master Planning, development strategies and major operator lease negotiations for the Perisher Range Resort areas within Kosciusko National Park (project value >A$250 million);
  • Strategic planning and financial analysis for delivering Municipal Infrastructure to the Perisher Range Resorts (project value >A$250 million);
  • Development planning & leasing negotiations for a new Village Centre at Perisher Valley in Kosciusko National Park (project value >A$250 million);
  • Development planning and disposal programs for major surplus NSW Government sites, including the former Gladesville Mental Hospital, the former Peat Island Hospital facilities, the Eastern Creek Motorsport Precinct, the Strickland House Estate (combined project value >A$100 million);

  • Development planning and funding strategies for major Town Centre developments, including the Newcastle Civic & Cultural Precinct and Canterbury Civic Centre at Campsie (combined project value >A$200 million).

When employed by the Lend Lease Group, Glenn managed the following development projects:

  • Jackson's Landing (Sydney): high rise residential - Distillery Hill and Waterfront West precincts – masterplan revision & feasibility analysis (project value > A$450 million)
  • Cempaka III (Jakarta): mixed retail/residential – cross-cultural joint venture negotiation, investment analysis, project initiation, financing & design management (project value >A$300 Million)
  • Fern Hill Park (Canberra): Hi-tech business park – staged commercial and residential developments (project value >A$150 Million)
